So, just what is the key to playing really good sounding Professional Chords easily? 3 things: Adding Extensions, Connecting Your Chords, and Adding Altered (Special) Notes to your chords.

What does Adding Extensions mean? It means adding notes to your chords that make your chords Stand Out!
But, how do you do this?
You can add ‘higher level’ notes such as 9ths, 11ths, and 13ths to your chords.

Lots of times when you play chords, they may not sound like they’re connected together. In other words, it sounds like you’re jumping all over the place. No Smoothness.

Here’s what I mean. If you have a C7 or C9 chord, for instance, try playing a C7b5 instead, or a C7b5#9 instead. You’ll get a MUCH BETTER SOUNDING Chord!
