"How To Play Chords That Sound Like A Professional - Phase I"

What is voicing?

When you split a chord between hands, you are using a concept called voicing.

For instance, if you have a three-note chord, you might play two of the notes in the left hand, and the other note in the right hand.

For a four-note chord, you may play two notes in the left hand, and two notes in the right hand.

One more example would be a five-note chord. Again, you could play two notes in the left hand, and three notes in the right hand.

One of the Amazing concepts of voicing is that the notes you play in your left hand, and be used as a "Shell".

In other words, even though you are just playing a couple of notes in the left hand, the human ear thinks that it is hearing the entire chord.
